Cookie Policy
This policy explains how ERGO Assurance uses cookies and similar technologies on its websites, and the choices available to you.
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to store information such as language preferences, session state, or usage analytics. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and SDKs.
This policy covers all such technologies, referred to collectively as "cookies".
Cookie categories
We group cookies used on our websites into three categories. Only strictly necessary cookies are set without your consent; analytics and marketing cookies require your explicit opt-in via the cookie banner.
| Category | Purpose | Consent required |
|---|---|---|
Strictly necessary | Required for the site to function: session, security, load balancing, language preference, cookie-consent record. | No — legitimate interest |
Analytics | Aggregated usage measurement (Google Analytics 4) to understand traffic and improve content. Data is collected only after you accept. | Yes — opt-in |
Marketing | Campaign attribution and retargeting via third parties. Enabled only when you accept marketing cookies in the banner. | Yes — opt-in |
Consent management
The first time you visit an ERGO Assurance website, a consent banner is shown. Until you make a choice, analytics and marketing cookies are blocked at load time by an inline pre-paint script.
You can change your decision at any time by clearing the site cookies in your browser, which re-triggers the banner on your next visit, or by using the "Cookies" link in the footer of every page.
Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings — you can block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, or delete cookies already stored. See the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge for step-by-step instructions.
Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of this website not to function as expected.
Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We respect Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals sent by your browser as an opt-out of analytics and marketing cookies where applicable law recognises GPC as a valid signal.
Because there is no unified industry standard for legacy Do Not Track (DNT) signals, we do not currently respond to DNT headers. We do, however, honor your explicit choice made through the cookie banner and browser controls.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in applicable law. The date at the top of this page shows the most recent revision.
